OETT Weld Shop

The OETT weld shop offers our members basic through advanced welding practices in the repair and maintenance to the equipment associated with our industry. We also offer classroom and practical instruction to acquire a certification in structural steel through the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.

Internal Combustion Engines

This Course will provide the member with the basic knowledge of engine dynamics and how to service them on a multitude of earth moving equipment.

Electronics / Electrical

This course will provide the member with the basic knowledge of machine electrical systems and electronics including:

  • Troubleshooting

  • Repair

  • Maintenance

Introduction to Hydraulics

This course will provide the member with the basic knowledge of hydraulic systems.

This course will provide the member with a more in-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems.

Plant Equipment Operator Courses
PEO
Crushers, Screens, and Conveyors

This course will provide the member with the basic theory and operation of general rock crushing, plant facilities, and other equipment with focus on repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.​

Prerequisite: None.

Electrical, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics

This course will provide the member with the basic knowledge of the theory of electricity with focus on troubleshooting the power and control circuits. The course will also provide the basic knowledge of the theory of the drive systems of the planet, as well as hydraulics and pneumatics, with focus on troubleshooting.

 

Prerequisite:  None.

Concrete, Asphalt Plant Operation, & Material Gradations

This course will provide the member with the basic knowledge of concrete and asphalt plant operations, maintenance, and repair. This course will also provide instruction on the basic components of mixed designs and strengths.
