Skilled and Trained Workforce Apprenticeship Program
How to Apply
The first step in applying for the Skilled and Trained Workforce Apprenticeship Program begins with obtaining a sponsorship request from your current signatory contractor/employer and approval from the Director of Training for an application.
The sponsorship request must contain the applicants name, address, phone number and email, and a current hour printout from the Operating Engineers Trust Funds office for verification of required hours. This can now be done online by going to Work History Report Request - Operating Engineers Trust Funds (oefi.org). The request will then be reviewed by the Director of Training and upon approval or denial of the request, the Operating Engineers Training Trust will send an email with further instructions to the applicant.
Submittal includes a completed Apprenticeship application along with a current Union Membership card from IUOE Local 12. The applicant will also be required to complete an online Sexual Harassment Prevention Training course and provide the completion certificate from the State of California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH).
